Athlete Development

PerfORmance Services

Testing, analysis and programming for fighters and athletes. These services are available separately from regular Fight Lab classes.

Strike testing

Measure strike output

Power, speed, reaction time and endurance

Est. time2 × 90 min over 2 weeks, with follow-ups
Est. cost$300–$700 per strike type
Enquire

An adjustable, anchored PowerKube is used to establish repeatable starting positions and measure output across punches, kicks, knees and elbows. Testing can cover power, impact, reaction time and how quickly output falls across repeated strikes.

The result is a practical baseline. It can be used to check whether changes to technique, strength work, nutrition or rehabilitation are producing a measurable improvement.

Who it is for
Fighters assessing whether strength and power work is transferring to their striking
Experienced athletes refining technique, reaction time or endurance
Anyone who wants numerical feedback instead of relying only on feel
Athletes establishing a baseline before or after an injury
Fight biomechanics

Analyse strikes and movement

Joint positioning, movement and muscle contribution

Est. time 2 × 90 min over 2 weeks, with follow-ups
Est. cost $400–$700 per strike type
Enquire

Multiple fixed-angle cameras are used to examine how joints and body segments move during a strike or athletic action. This can reveal positions that restrict power, reduce balance or limit the contribution of important muscles.

Technique adjustments can then be compared against repeatable strike testing. Longer-term strength, activation or movement work may be added where the analysis shows a clear need.

Who it is for
Higher-level fighters looking for the next stage of power development
Athletes who know a strike or movement feels limited or unbalanced
People returning from injury or managing repeated movement-related problems
Experienced fighters wanting to improve an already effective strike
Performance nutrition

Plan nutrition around training

Individual targets, phase planning and ongoing review

Est. time 4+ sessions across 6–8 weeks
Est. cost $320–$480
Enquire

Nutrition is planned around the athlete’s schedule, training load, body composition and immediate goal. This may include fat loss, muscle gain, weight-class management or fuelling a demanding training phase.

Targets are reviewed as training and body composition change. For fighters, the process can also account for meal timing, weight-cut management and competition-day fuelling.

Who it is for
Athletes who want their food intake to support their actual training load
Fighters managing weight classes, cuts or competition-day performance
People entering a structured fat-loss, muscle-gain or performance phase
Athletes training consistently without seeing the expected result
  Strength, power & performance

Build sport-specific output

Individual programming with testing and progression

Est. time 4 × 90 min sessions across 6–8 weeks
Est. cost $450–$800
Enquire

Strength and power programming is built around the athlete’s sport, current capacity and performance goal. Sessions may be coached in person or delivered remotely, with progression adjusted as the athlete adapts.

PowerKube testing can be used alongside the program to check whether gym-based improvements are transferring into measurable strike output and to identify when the plan needs to change.

Who it is for
Athletes of any level who need structured sport-specific programming
Fighters working to convert gym strength into strike power
Athletes returning from injury through a progressive plan
People whose current strength work is no longer improving performance
  Muscle activation & recruitment

Identify activation gaps

Assessment, surface EMG and targeted retraining

Est. time Varies; minimum 2 × 90 min sessions
Est. cost From $380
Enquire

Strength alone does not guarantee that a muscle activates at the right time or contributes effectively to a movement. Assessment, surface EMG where appropriate, and power-based testing are used to identify activation or recruitment problems.

Retraining may combine targeted exercises, movement work and neuromuscular electrical stimulation where it is relevant, particularly after injury or when neural inhibition is suspected.

Who it is for
Athletes whose output does not reflect their strength levels
People managing persistent imbalances or repeated injuries
Athletes rebuilding activation after injury
Anyone with a movement pattern that consistently underperforms
  Fight camp & competition prep

Coordinate the full preparation process

Strength, nutrition, testing and fight-date planning

Est. time Flexible and based on the athlete’s needs
Est. cost Price on application
Enquire

Competition preparation works best when strength, nutrition, biomechanics, activation and performance testing support the same objective. This service coordinates the relevant parts around the fight date, current baseline and competition demands.

The scope can cover a small number of priority areas or a complete preparation plan. Nutrition and strength usually provide the foundation, with other testing and analysis added where they will have a clear effect.

Who it is for
Fighters with a confirmed date who want a structured preparation plan
Athletes whose previous camps lacked coordination
Elite fighters looking to refine several performance factors together
Amateur or first-time competitors who need guidance across the full camp
